„Learning by doing“ is the motto Marisell Eichoff (23) connects with the NMUN experience. As a law student who also studies political science and philosophy, she is keen on representing a point of view that may well not be her own. Several internships in Germany and abroad, for example in Russia, helped her expand her knowledge of foreign languages remarkably. Talking to diplomats and attending conferences and negotiations abroad are further valuable experiences she has made. Marisell’s place of action in New York will be the Commission on Narcotic Drugs.

Internationality is nothing new for Matylda Obojska (25). The student of American and Slavic Studies is fluent in Polish, German, English and, as she puts it also speaks “some” French. During her semester abroad in Prague Matylda additionally improved her knowledge of Czech. She will benefit from the experiences she gathered as a tutor for the International Language Programs at the University of Tübingen, as well as during her internships at the Polish Consulate General and at the German international broadcaster "Deutsche Welle" when she will represent Saudi-Arabia in the World Trade Organisation.

Mona Dumitrache
Mona Dumitrache
Komitee:AfDB
Orga-Team: Party

Broadening her horizon is an incentive for Mona Dumitrache (22) to join NMUN. The Romanian student of geography, political science and cultural anthropology enjoys working with like- minded students who want to make a difference. Motivated herself, and motivating for our team, Mona is convinced that the United Nations have to gain more importance in international relations. Her teamspirit and organisational competence – qualities she gathered in her extracurricular activities – will stand her in good stead for the NMUN preparation. Mona is looking forward to the exciting challenge of being a delegate of Saudi Arabia to the African Development Bank.

Patricia Battke
Patricia Battke
Komitee:CSustD
Orga-Team: Party

Patricia Battke (23) has a lot of experience in team work and representation, her theoretic foundation being her studies in political science and rhetoric. She has gained insight into political reality on EU-level during an internship for a European party in Brussels, and is keen on comparing this to her experiences at the United Nations. Presentation techniques have played an important role in Patricia’s job as a teacher in rhetoric courses. In April, these skills will be valuable when she is standing in front of the Commission on Sustainable Development during the NMUN simulation.

Tomasz Kruczek
Tomasz Kruczek
Komitee:FAO
Orga-Team:TMUN

The future Polish EU-diplomat Tomasz Kruczek (25) is studying political science, American studies and Russian in Tübingen. He already gathered first operating experience as a diplomat during his internship at the Polish embassy. Tomasz believes that the preparation for NMUN will enable him to acquire new competences in the realm of international relations. Moreover, he considers the frequent simulations a great opportunity to develop his rhetorical and argumentative skills – which are very important for his intended career. In New York, Tomasz will represent Saudi Arabian interests in the Food and Agriculture Organisation.

Volquart Stoy
Volquart Stoy
Komitee:AfDB
Orga-Team: Party

His studies and internships in South Africa and Benin have given Volquart Stoy (23) quite some international experience. On the look-out for a new challenge he came across NMUN and is curious to catch the “spirit of the UN” when he is representing Saudi Arabia in the African Development Bank in New York. His knowledge in the subjects history, political science and economics, as well as his confidence and speaking skills, will serve him well.
