Delegates: Details 3/5

Hava Baris
Hava Baris
Komitee: GA 2nd
Orga-Team:Fundraising/ Brochure

In Hava Baris‘ (23) view, one of NMUN’s assets is the fact that young people from all over the world come together to debate current problems – all of this in English and in an authentic setting. Hava is grateful for this opportunity to learn, and is sure she will gain insights that will be helpful for her future work as a teacher of English and Geography. Her final thesis will be about the Balkanization process and the role the United Nations played in the Balkan crisis. Knowing the structure and working process of the United Nations might also contribute to a better understanding in this respect. In New York, Hava will be standing up for Saudi Arabian interests in the General Assembly’s Second Committee.

Iain Fraser
Iain Fraser
Komitee: GA Plenary
Orga-Team: Party

The NMUN team’s only New Zealander Iain Fraser (25) is keen on experiencing the subject he studies from a different perspective. After finishing his BA at the University of Otago, he came to Tübingen via a DAAD scholarship. He has already taken part in numerous debating and theatre programmes and in a model Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in his home country and knows what it is like to represent other views in front of a larger assembly, which is why his role as a delegate to the United Nations General Assembly Plenary suits him well. Iain is currently participating in the Masters Program in “Peace Studies and International Politics” in Tübingen.

Isabelle Kabisch
Isabelle Kabisch
Komitee: FAO
Orga-Team:TMUN

An internship at the EU sparked off Isabelle Kabisch’s (24) interest for international organisations. She approaches the discussion about the United Nations with pragmatic political knowledge and a high dosis of idealism, seeing the organisation as an essential - if not always ideally functioning – forum for establishing world peace. The way negotiations and the finding of a consensus function in reality will be an experience which Isabelle will enjoy in the Food and Agriculture Organisation.

Jan Münster
Jan Münster
Komitee: CND
Orga-Team:Funraising/ Brochure

A course about the International Criminal Court and the Internatioal Courts for Jugoslawia and Rwanda awakened Jan Münster's (25) interest in international organisations. Jan hopes that through his participation at the NMUN he will learn more about the decision making process within the United Nations. Additionally, he is looking forward to experiencing the work of an international delegate first-hand. The student of political science and American studies does not want to miss this opportunity to represent Saudi Arabia in front of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs.
